ABOUT THE ROLE
Our Electricity Market & Network Modelling team is experiencing significant growth, driven by the continued success of delivering high-profile modelling projects for renewable developers, AEMO, and Transmission Network Service Providers (TNSPs).
As a Senior Electricity Market Modeller at EPEC Group, you will play a critical role in shaping Australia's energy transition by delivering high-quality market analysis and strategic insights to support grid connection and energy infrastructure projects.
In this role, you will lead the development and application of advanced electricity market models to assess project viability, forecast market outcomes, and inform investment and strategic decisions across renewable energy and battery storage (BESS) developments. Working closely with multidisciplinary engineering, analytics, and project teams, you will contribute to end-to-end HV grid connection solutions—supporting clients from early-stage feasibility through to registration and commissioning.
RESPONSIBILITIES
* Lead cutting-edge electricity market modelling projects and ensure high-quality outcomes
* Develop and maintain advanced market models and simulations
* Conduct scenario analysis, price forecasting, and dispatch modelling using tools such as PLEXOS
* Deliver market simulations, regulatory impact assessments, and policy modelling
* Support grid connection applications and compliance with regulatory requirements
* Provide strategic insights on market trends, risks, and investment opportunities
* Collaborate with engineers, analysts, developers, and key stakeholders across projects
* Support strategic decision-making through quantitative analysis, risk assessments, and commercial evaluations

QUALIFICATIONS
* A degree in Electrical Engineering, Economics, Mathematics, or a related field.
REQUIRED SKILLS
* Hands-on experience in electricity market modelling or a similar analytical role.
* Proficiency with PLEXOS or equivalent modelling platforms.
* Solid understanding of electricity market structures, regulations, and policies.
* Exceptional analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to manage large datasets.
* A sharp eye for detail and strong problem-solving abilities.
* Clear, confident communication skills to translate complex technical insights for diverse audiences.
* A collaborative mindset, ready to work across multidisciplinary teams.

PREFERRED SKILLS
