Responsibilities
* Facilitate social activities – art classes, gardening, day trips, movie nights – ensuring a range of offerings for all residents.
* Create a sense of belonging by leading games, chatting over tea, and connecting residents.
* Assist with daily living activities such as mealtimes and outings, and provide emotional support to residents with cognitive impairment or mental health needs.
* Collect feedback through surveys and family conferences to refine activities.
* Collaborate with the Lifestyle Coordinator and care team to plan activities, document progress, and raise any concerns.
* Maintain cleanliness and safety by following infection control protocols and keeping the environment tidy.
* Aid in meal preparation and serving, adhering to food safety standards and monitoring resident preferences.
Qualifications
* First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain one).
* Australian driver's licence desirable.
* Passion for enriching lives – the most important qualification.
* Can‐do spirit – flexible, adaptable, and up for a challenge.
* Creative – full of ideas to make each day an adventure.
* Excellent communication skills – builds trust and rapport with residents and colleagues.
* Team player – collaborates effectively and supports others with a smile.
* Previous experience caring for elders in aged care or community setting – essential.
