About SA Earthworks
SA Earthworks is a South Australian civil contractor specialising in earthworks, stormwater, pavements, concrete, and associated civil infrastructure works across commercial, industrial, retail, education, and government sectors.
The Role
Reporting directly to senior management, you will be responsible for identifying opportunities, preparing accurate and competitive tenders, and building relationships with builders, developers, consultants, and clients throughout South Australia.
This position is ideally suited to a commercially minded Civil Engineer who enjoys the pre-construction phase of projects and wants to play a key role in securing future work.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare detailed civil construction estimates and tender submissions.
* Review project drawings, specifications, and contract documentation.
* Complete quantity take-offs and cost planning.
* Obtain and assess subcontractor and supplier quotations.
* Prepare tender clarifications and value engineering proposals.
* Assist with contract reviews and project handovers.
* Build and maintain relationships with builders, developers, architects, consultants, and clients.
* Identify upcoming project opportunities and contribute to business development activities.
* Maintain tender registers and pipeline reporting.
* Assist with capability statements, EOI submissions, and prequalification documentation.
* Support management in growing SA Earthworks' client base and project portfolio.
Qualifications
* Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent qualification.
* Experience within civil construction, estimating, or project engineering.
* Strong understanding of earthworks, stormwater, pavements, and concrete construction.
* Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
* Strong commercial and analytical skills.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* High level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
* Ability to manage multiple tenders and deadlines simultaneously.
* Experience pricing commercial civil construction projects valued between $100,000 and $5 million.
* Experience working with commercial builders and developers.
* Knowledge of local council and basic DIT specifications.
* Experience with estimating software and Bluebeam.
* Existing industry relationships within the South Australian construction market.
