Are you an experienced marine environmental approvals specialist looking for a role where your expertise drives impactful, sustainable outcomes? ERM, the world’s largest sustainability advisory firm, is looking for a Senior Marine Consultant with 10+ years of experience to lead environmental approvals for major offshore projects including oil and gas, renewables and carbon capture and storage. In this role, you will collaborate with industry leaders, manage complex approvals, and guide clients through high‑profile projects that shape the future of offshore energy and sustainability. You will provide strategic technical advice and support clients from early planning through to approval, ensuring compliant, efficient and defensible outcomes in a dynamic regulatory environment. With access to ERM’s global Impact Assessment Technical Community, you’ll work on both local and international projects that make a difference.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead environmental impact assessments and complex approvals processes.
* Provide a high standard of technical writing and synthesise technical data to develop robust approvals documents.
* Manage projects within scope, budget, and quality standards.
* Develop technical proposals and strengthen client relationships through business development.
* Mentor junior and mid‑level consultants to build their expertise in environmental approvals and provide technical review and feedback.
* Foster collaboration within ERM’s multidisciplinary teams to deliver exceptional results.
Qualifications
* A degree in Marine Science, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or similar.
* 10+ years of experience in environmental approvals for offshore projects.
* Experience in decommissioning of oil and gas or other marine infrastructure is advantageous.
* Strong understanding of Commonwealth and State environmental regulatory frameworks.
* Proven ability to build and sustain client relationships.
* Strong written, verbal, and strategic thinking skills.
* Authorisation to work in Australia.
