About the Company
PJL Group is a specialised Underground Hard Rock Maintenance and Asset Supply company delivering high-quality maintenance solutions to Australia's mining sector. The Kanmantoo operation, located about one hour south‐east of Adelaide in the Adelaide Hills region, is a greenfield underground mining project operated by Hillgrove Resources (HGO). PJL Group provides 24/7 supply and maintenance for the underground fleet, primarily Sandvik, Caterpillar and Volvo equipment.
About the Role
Reporting to site leadership, the Heavy Diesel Fitter will ensure safe and efficient maintenance of underground mining equipment to achieve maximum reliability and minimal downtime.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct routine inspections of underground mobile equipment
* Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults
* Perform planned maintenance, breakdown repairs and component change‐outs
* Complete complex repairs to a high standard of quality and safety
* Accurately record maintenance activities and defects
* Collaborate within a high‐performing team to meet production demands
* Contribute to a strong safety culture and continuous improvement
About You
* A mechanical trade qualification
* Demonstrated experience maintaining underground mining equipment
* Strong fault‐finding skills across mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems
* Proactive approach to safety, quality and housekeeping
* Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision
* Team‐focused mindset with strong communication skills
* Current Australian work rights
* Previous experience with Sandvik, Caterpillar or Volvo underground equipment is highly regarded
