Position Overview
The Young Peoples' Advisory Committee (YPAC) at headspace Lismore is a volunteer group of young people aged 12‐25 who support the development and delivery of headspace services by providing youth input on events, programs, policies and services.
Responsibilities
* Plan and run youth events, workshops, school talks and community awareness stalls at festivals.
* Use social media platforms to connect with and empower other young people and their families.
* Assist in the design and development of headspace services, including policy, staff recruitment and training.
* Represent headspace at events for local organisations, services and schools.
Eligibility & Qualifications
* Aged 12‐25 years.
* Passionate about improving the mental health and wellbeing of local young people.
* Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people, people with a disability or who identify as LGBTIQASB+ are especially encouraged to apply.
* Volunteers must be 18 years or older and have completed a Working With Children Check (NSW) and a National Police Records Check; Social Futures will cover any costs.
Commitment
YPAC members volunteer their time for community events and advisory meetings as scheduled by headspace Lismore.
