Overview
WSP has one of the largest Contaminated Site teams in Australia. Our global team is growing, and we offer a culture that values well-being, technical excellence, and innovation. This role is based in our Townsville office with the option to work from home 1–2 days per week when not on site. We welcome applications from interstate candidates and provide relocation support.
What You'll Do
* Conduct environmental field works (e.g. drilling, hydrogeological testing, site validation, remediation supervision, monitoring) with safety and geological/hydrogeological considerations
* Collect environmental samples of soil, surface water, sediment, groundwater, soil vapour, ambient air and landfill gas, etc.
* Interrogate large datasets, develop conceptual site models and prepare detailed field notes
* Draft technical assessment reports and recommendations
* Oversee contractors and ensure safe, compliant and quality field works programs
* Apply legislation, standards, guidelines, and project specifications
* Prepare compelling proposals and lead projects to meet budget and strategic goals
* Build strong relationships with colleagues and clients
* Guide, mentor, and inspire a team of junior consultants
* Contribute to a culture of teamwork, innovation, collaboration and passion
* Collaborate with the national team to execute initiatives locally
* Manage your own small to medium scale projects
* Contribute to market action plans for targeted clients
* Uphold a strong safety culture and champion safety initiatives
About You
You're likely to have a minimum of 7–12 years of relevant experience, and you're enthusiastic, reliable and great at building collaborative working relationships.
You Will Also Bring
* Experience in managing medium contaminated-site projects
* Knowledge of soil contaminants, site sampling techniques, investigation methodologies and remediation technologies for groundwater, soil and gas
* Understanding of QLD regulations pertaining to the management of contaminated sites
* A current full Australian Driver's Licence
* Ability to meet Defence clearance requirements as an Australian Citizen or permanent resident
* You're likely to have tertiary education in earth sciences/agriculture or environmental science/engineering
* Some experience in business development, proposal writing, and delivering exceptional client outcomes and cost-effective solutions
