The client is seeking an experienced Identity & Access Management (IAM) Test Lead to oversee testing activities across multiple projects, ensuring the security, reliability, and integrity of critical ICT systems. This is a full‐time role commencing on 1 July 2026, with an initial contract duration until 30 June 2027, based in Canberra with hybrid working arrangements. The successful candidate will work on‐site for at least the first three months to understand the department's ICT landscape, with flexible arrangements thereafter subject to operational needs.
Responsibilities
* Lead, coach, and mentor testing teams to enhance performance and capability.
* Plan, coordinate, and oversee testing strategies, schedules, and execution activities related to IAM projects.
* Develop, review, and execute complex test artefacts, including manual test cases, data, traceability matrices, and defect reports.
* Drive the development and maintenance of testing documentation and reporting, ensuring compliance with organisational standards.
* Communicate effectively with stakeholders across ICT, business, and operational areas, providing regular status updates.
* Identify and manage testing risks, issues, and dependencies, proposing appropriate mitigation strategies.
* Offer expert advice on testing applications, systems, environments, data, and tools to support project success.
* Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, refining testing processes, tools, and delivery efficiency.
* Transfer knowledge and skills to departmental staff and ensure documentation is properly stored per recordkeeping policies.
Qualifications
* A minimum of 5+ years' experience in testing, with at least 3+ years in a Test Lead capacity.
* Suitable ISTQB or equivalent certification.
* Experience with testing tools such as ALM Octane and Azure DevOps.
* Knowledge of Identity and Access Management (IAM), including RBAC frameworks and related cyber security standards like ISM, NIST, PSPF.
* Demonstrated ability to develop acceptance criteria and design comprehensive test scenarios.
* Strong leadership skills, with experience in performance management, stakeholder engagement, and coaching.
* Proven ability to plan and drive testing activities across multiple projects and teams.
* Analytical skills to quickly understand new systems, applications, and business processes.
Desirable
* Business situation analysis experience, identifying problems and recommending improvements.
* Knowledge of quality assurance practices and conducting audits.
* Expertise in quality management systems and process improvements.
* Ability to provide detailed, specialist advice related to testing and quality standards.
Security clearance
Due to security clearance requirements for this role, candidates must be Australian Citizen with active Baseline Security Clearances.
