In this role you will be:

* In conjunction with other Portland Environmental Lead Team members, reviewing the plant performance to EPA licence/s, location and corporate requirements.
* Maintaining an up-to-date knowledge and understanding of relevant obligations and employer duties under the Occupational Health and Safety Act 2004 (Vic) to ensure site compliance, understanding the site Health and Safety issues resolution process as well as the roles and powers of internal and external key stakeholders.
* Maintaining competency in hazard identification and risk assessment processes along with the ability to identify appropriate risk control measures and facilitating access to expert technical information and advice in relation to specific hazards.
* Ensuring the highest level of protection is offered to people by continually evaluating and trialling (where appropriate) new protective equipment as it becomes available on the market.
* Being responsible for the development and implementation of occupational hygiene monitoring programs (e.g. dust, fume, noise, heat stress) across site.
