Due to an internal relocation, we are seeking a dynamic Human Resources Manager to help scale and strengthen the organisation.
Reporting directly to the CEO, this role leads the full people function and is pivotal in building a high‐performing, compliant and engaged workforce across the business.
The purpose of the Human Resources Manager is to lead and strengthen the people function across the business, partnering with the CEO, managers and employees at all levels to drive organisational performance, workforce capability and culture. The role is accountable for organisational design and position control, workforce planning, end‐to‐end recruitment and employment processes, employee relations, policy and framework development, performance management, disciplinary matters and terminations. It also plays an important role in supporting workplace health and safety practices, investigations, risk awareness and compliance activities, while monitoring employment costs and providing people insights through HR reporting, dashboards and strong analytical capability.
As the successful candidate, you will be a bold, people‐centred HR leader who thrives in a fast‐moving environment and knows how to elevate an organisation from the inside out. You bring senior‐level HR expertise, the confidence to partner with executives and teams at every level, and the judgement, professionalism and resilience to navigate complex people matters with credibility and care. You are energised by coaching leaders, shaping smart organisational structures, strengthening accountability and building a workforce that is engaged, capable and future‐ready.
You combine strategic thinking with a practical, hands‐on approach. You are comfortable moving between executive‐level advice and day‐to‐day operational support, balancing urgency with sound judgement and procedural fairness. You bring strong working knowledge of Australian employment legislation, modern awards, HR compliance requirements and workplace investigations, along with the ability to use data, dashboards and systems such as Employment Hero to support decision‐making and continuous improvement.
Just as importantly, you will model the behaviours and mindset that underpin the SPS culture. You will work as a true partner in progress, act with urgency and purpose, build trust through one‐team collaboration, and contribute to strength in unity by challenging and supporting others with honesty and respect. You will lead with humility, ownership, empathy, courage, vision and optimism, creating an environment where people feel supported, accountable and motivated to do their best work.
This is a permanent, full‐time opportunity based at their vibrant Tonsley office.
Here is your chance to join an entrepreneurial team at the forefront of Australia's defence sector — a place where innovation is real, ideas matter and your impact is felt from day one. And because culture matters, I should mention — being comfortable around dogs is a plus, as there are dogs on site from time to time.
