About the role
We are currently seeking a Scientist for our Brisbane Platelet and Neutrophil Reference team to provide diagnostic laboratory testing for platelet and neutrophil immunobiology and related transfusion reactions.
A day in the Scientist role could see you:
* Conduct scientific specialist testing procedures
* Undertake detailed analysis and clinical investigations to prepare clinical patient reports
* Share knowledge, coaching, and problem solving
* Perform validation of scientific testing procedures and equipment
* Participate in internal and external audits
* Provide technical and scientific advice as required by the business
* Continually look for ways to optimise work processes, actively learning and adapting your approach to achieve great outcomes.
* Act with a sense of urgency, high energy and enthusiasm and be able to relate openly and comfortably with everyone.

* A minimum education level of Bachelor of Science with a major in Immunology or Genetics (or equivalent)
* Practical laboratory experience in a transfusion laboratory or similar environment
* Confidence performing a range of technical and analytical processes and be familiar with a range of scientific software packages
* Professional written and verbal communication with a focus on attention to detail
* Digital and technical aptitude
