About the Role
Protech are looking for experienced Track Machine Operators to perform work with our client, located in Port Hedland on a 2/2 Roster.
Contract details: ASAP START, 6 month contract, 2/2 roster (days only), 12 hour days / Super on all hours, Weekly pay, Flights with Qantas/Frequent Flyer Points Accrual, Modern, comfortable accommodation & opportunity for Permanent rooms.
Key Responsibilities
* Operate rail-bound plant and specialised equipment, including tampers, regulators and track measurement vehicles, to support track maintenance activities across the rail network
* Conduct pre-start inspections, fault reporting, and basic preventative maintenance on machinery
* Analyse and interpret track geometry, machine outputs and track condition data to identify issues and support timely rectification
* Ensure track is safe for train movements, including applying speed restrictions where required and liaising with Train Control on safe working requirements
* Support continuous improvement by contributing technical input to maintenance strategies, procedures, planning processes and work management systems
Skills & Experience Required
* Valid Western Australian Manual Drivers Licence
* Proven experience in a rail-bound plant role with demonstrated ability operating tampers, regulators and track measurement vehicles
* WA recognised mechanical or electrical trade qualification, or equivalent relevant industry experience
* Strong understanding of track geometry, track surfacing, tamping and regulating processes
* Ability to use rail analytical software, onboard computer systems and condition monitoring systems to measure, record and interpret rail defects
* Required licences and rail safe working qualifications, Safe Working Driver Level 1 and RH Rail Safe working Level 5
* Australian Work Rights
* Ability to maintain fitness for work, pass a pre-employment medical & drug and alcohol testing
* Ability to obtain a National Police Clearance
