Our Opportunity
We are currently looking for a Hygiene Team Member/Cleaner to join our Darwin site. The Hygiene Team Member is an integral member of the Manufacturing team. The incumbent will make a strong contribution to a high performing production team and team culture within Goodman Fielder.
Shift patterns available:
Monday 11:00am-5:30pm
Tuesday 12:00pm-8:30pm
Wednesday 9:00am- 5:30pm
Thursday day 12:00pm-8:30pm
Friday 12:00pm-8:30pm
Key responsibilities
* Report all accidents and incidents.
* Report any unsafe work areas practices.
* Reduction in SI Zero LTI.
* Co-operate with and participate in all programs that ensure a safe and healthier working environment, for example, legislative required training (LOTO, manual handling, noise awareness, chemical usage & handling etc)
* Complete all cleaning and hygiene activities as per the site Master Cleaning and Sanitation schedule.
* Keep timely and accurate records of all cleaning and sanitation activity.
* Ensure cleaning activities comply with all food safety and quality procedures i.e. loose item controls, foreign material controls and Good Manufacturing Practices.
* Maintain all cleaning equipment and tools i.e. floor scrubbers, high pressure cleaners, foamers, foggers to high level of operation and report any deficiencies to the Maintenance team as required.
* Participate in all mandatory training relating to site Food Safety, Quality, cleaning and hygiene and chemical handling.
* Ensure compliance with required Quality, GMP, BRC, Customer Specifications (e.g. Coles; Woolworths), Hygiene and Food Safety policies, standards and procedures.
* Assist as required with the development of Standard Operating Procedures related to cleaning and hygiene of the plant, equipment and general plant.
* Report any equipment failures to the Manufacturing or Maintenance teams where there is potential for physical contamination or potential downtime
The successful applicant will have

* Strong verbal and written communication skills
* The ability to make decisions in all types of situations
* Works well in a team environmen
* Self-motivated and enthusiastic
* Having confined space, working at heights, processing and running plant experience will be advantageous
