A unique opportunity is available for an experienced commercial and corporate lawyer to join our fast‐growing Commercial & Corporate Team on a permanent full‐time basis in Melbourne. You will play a vital role in assisting our broad range of clients throughout Australia by providing high quality legal advice in all areas of their business. This is an exciting opportunity for a Senior Associate or Special Counsel looking for an opportunity within a national firm that supports work‐life balance and career development.
The key responsibilities include:
* Autonomously manage own workload of commercial and corporate matters varying in subject matter and complexity.
* Mentor and coach more junior lawyers in the team nationally by settling draft advice and agreements, including but not limited to facilities and services agreements, contractor agreements, shareholder/unitholder deeds, business purchase/sale agreements and privacy policies;
* Attend client meetings and obtain instructions.
* Provide written and verbal advice as necessary to clients.
* Conduct Business Development and attending networking opportunities, where appropriate.
To be successful in this role you will have:
* 6+ years post admission experience in commercial & corporate areas of practice, preferably within a law firm or in‐house corporate environment.
* Tertiary qualifications in Law (LLB or equivalent).
* Strong attention to detail to produce efficient and accurate documents.
* Demonstrated ability to draft complex contracts including facilities and services agreements, contractor agreements, shareholder/unitholder deeds, business purchase/sale agreements and privacy policies.
* Prior experience in the healthcare / insurance sector would be advantageous but not essential.
* Demonstrated ability to manage others whilst being self‐sufficient on their own matters.
