What will I be doing?
* Lead the technology function for Wpay, the payments platform business providing services to the Group and external clients.
* Set strategic technical direction and provide leadership in deploying future payment technologies and enhancing existing solutions within Wpay, including payment switching, processing, digital payments, in‑store payments, payment issuing solutions, merchant management solutions, pay‑outs & billing, and data platforms (analytics, business intelligence).
* Develop, communicate, implement, and review processes that drive strategic outcomes for Wpay, including core operational management of payments technology assets.
* Act as a key part of the Wpay business, ensuring technology requirements are met and providing thought leadership and industry‑leading practices.
* Work alongside the Wpay leadership team to enable strategy, deliver solutions, and maintain a 24x7x365 operation.
* Design, implement, and execute long‑term payments technology strategies while also managing short‑term tactical initiatives.
* Establish a fit‑for‑purpose support, technology operations, and service delivery that meets service level expectations for external and internal clients.
* Own end‑to‑end delivery of technology products, changes, and enhancements.
* Manage internal and external supplier relationships, ensuring high performance, competitive pricing, and resource efficiencies. Actively manage vendor performance.
* Identify, assess, classify, and mitigate risk in line with Wpay risk culture and parameters.
* Improve business area efficiency over time.
* Plan, budget, and forecast technology resources within Wpay.
* Cultivate and maintain a high‑performance team, partnering with HR for talent management and participating in recruitment, reward, promotion, and disciplinary processes.

* Technology leadership experience of large and diverse teams.
* Payment industry knowledge and experience.
* Cybersecurity knowledge experience.
* Application lifecycle management, development, delivery, and support experience.
* Proven results in defining and achieving functional strategy.
* Extensive experience running and supporting 24/7, highly available mission‑critical systems.
* Vendor engagement experience (both software vendor and professional services).
