Description & Requirements
As the Finance Analyst supporting the Eastern Australia Production Operations Asset, you'll provide operational financial information, analysis, and business partnering support to Departmental and Area Managers. Working closely with the Financial Controller – Production Operations and broader finance leadership team, you'll help deliver accurate reporting, insightful analysis, and commercially focused recommendations that drive performance, efficiency, and value creation across the business.
You'll play a key role in budgeting, forecasting, month‐end activities, and supporting operational decision‐making, while contributing to a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
* Partner with Departmental and Area Managers to provide financial support and insights.
* Support finance leadership with reporting, analysis, and performance improvement initiatives.
* Contribute to cost reduction and value creation strategies.
* Collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
* Prepare monthly reporting packs, budgets, forecasts, and financial analysis.
* Provide commentary on business performance, trends, and cost drivers.
* Monitor departmental cost centres and review cost allocations.
* Support Joint Venture reporting and process improvement initiatives.
* Perform month‐end accounting, journals, and ledger reviews.
* Deliver financial analysis and commentary for Asset Performance Reviews.
* Support half‐year and year‐end reporting requirements.
* Support audit requirements and maintain compliance with company policies, governance, and accounting standards.
What you'll bring
* CA or CPA qualified.
* Bachelor's degree in business, Commerce, or related discipline.
* Minimum 4 years' experience in finance or accounting roles.
* Strong accounting, analytical, and problem‐solving skills.
* Experience partnering with management across multiple disciplines.
* Advanced MS Excel skills and SAP ERP experience.
* Strong communication skills and high attention to detail.
* Experience within the resources or energy industry.
* Joint venture reporting experience.
* Experience contributing to process improvement and business performance initiatives.
