When you stand at the gates of Government House you see living history.
Every Governor of Western Australia since 1829 has lived on the site. The ballroom has hosted Kings and Presidents. The Gardens have grown through gold rushes and World Wars, recessions and pandemics.
This is not a heritage listing. It is a living, breathing institution. The remarkable House and grounds are the jewel in Perth's crown.
And it needs someone who can keep it that way.
As Director Estate Services at Government House, you will take on a role of breadth and consequence.
You will drive the implementation of the asset management and strategic maintenance plans across Government House, the ballroom, outbuildings, utilities, infrastructure, plant and equipment.
You will oversee the day-to-day security of one of Perth's most significant sites — managing emergency planning, contractor performance, site training, and incident response.
You will develop and manage budgets in consultation with the CFO, coordinate logistics for functions and official events, and champion work health and safety across the establishment.
Two direct reports — the Gardener Manager and the Senior Ranger — will look to you for leadership. So will a wider team of estate professionals. You will report directly to the CEO.
Government House does not do second-best, and neither should you.
If you have deep experience in facilities management, an eye for detail, an understanding of heritage and the proven ability to be part of the Executive Leadership Team at Governor's Establishment, then this opportunity could be for you.
