About the Role
As Blue Bungalow continues to grow and elevate its digital experience, we're introducing a new, integral role — Digital Designer (with HTML expertise), to enhance our in-house creative capability. This position is a key part of our evolution toward a fully in-house, end-to-end creative and marketing ecosystem, ensuring every digital touchpoint, from campaign concepts to on-site execution delivers on brand, with excellence and agility.
The Digital Designer will be responsible for bringing creative ideas to life across our digital channels (with a key focus on eDMs), blending design expertise with hands-on technical skill. They will design, build, and optimise on-brand digital experiences that are visually engaging, responsive, and performance driven.
As digital designer, this role will champion best practice, uphold design quality across all platforms, and collaborate closely with our marketing, CRM & Loyalty, and creative teams to ensure every experience feels seamless and inspiring for our customers. Role responsibilities include:
Email Development
Strategic concepts, ease of customer use focused, responsive across providers and devices, and constructed to provide insight to the team.
* Familiar with email service provider(s) - preferably Braze but Klaviyo or Salesforce
* Design and code responsive HTML/CSS email templates aligned with campaign calendars and lifecycle strategy
* Ensure cross device compatibility for all email assets
* Troubleshoot HTML/CSS issues to maintain flawless visual and customer experience
Digital Design
Visual design principles (layout, hierarchy, colour, typography), UX/UI awareness, component-based thinking, including landing pages, digital ads, banners, social creative.
* Translate brand guidelines into creative that resonates with our audience.
* Contribute fresh ideas for campaigns, styling, and storytelling in line with fashion trends.
* Collaborate with the creative team, CRM, paid marketing and e-commerce teams to bring concepts to life.
* Maintains consistency across digital assets using design systems, tokens, or style guides
* Design engaging assets for product launches, seasonal campaigns, promotions, and brand storytelling.
* Create on-brand graphics for web, social media, digital advertising, and customer communications.
* Retouch, resize, and optimise product and lifestyle imagery for e-commerce.
Production & Workflow
• Manage multiple projects in a deadline-driven environment with precision
• Maintain efficient file management and adhere to digital production best practices
• Deliver assets optimised for performance and aligned with brand voice
Technical Knowledge
• Proficient: HTML5, CSS3, responsive design
• Design Tools: Figma, Adobe XD, Photoshop, Indesign, Illustrator, After Effects
• Email Platforms: Braze (or another similar platform like Klaviyo or Salesforce)
• QA / Collaboration: Click Up (or similar)
Key Qualifications & Experience
• 3+ years' experience as a Digital Designer within fashion, lifestyle, or e-commerce (preferred)
• Strong working knowledge of HTML and CSS (email coding essential)
• Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
• Strong typography, layout, and visual composition skills preferably with a fashion lens
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume ecommerce environment with agility and adaptability
• Adaptive design skills and creative thinking - ability to create through the lens of our customer and what resonates with them
• Strategic conceptual ability – comes up with ideas aligned with insights. Enjoys rationalising creativity
• Highly detail-oriented with uncompromising standards for polish and quality
• Collaborative, proactive, and passionate about working in a team and elevating the brand's digital presence
