About the Opportunity
Join our dedicated midwifery team at Liverpool Hospital, where we provide exceptional, woman‑centred care across the continuum of maternity services.
We are currently seeking Core Midwives to join our Postnatal Ward. Our 25‑bed Postnatal Ward supports women during some of the most complex and vulnerable moments in their postnatal journey.
Responsibilities
Provide high‑quality, evidence‑based, woman‑centred care.
Support women and families after they have had their baby/s and provide knowledge for women and families to grow their families.
Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team to plan, implement and evaluate care, while advocating for culturally safe practice and timely escalation when needed.
Work in partnership with women to give the necessary support, care and advice during pregnancy, labour and the postpartum period, to conduct births on the midwife's own responsibility and to provide care for the newborn and the infant.
Rotate through clinical areas such as Birthing Unit, Post/Antenatal Ward, Special Care Nursery and Antenatal Clinic.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Registered Midwife with current AHPRA registration
- Passion for midwifery and commitment to woman‑centred, culturally responsive, evidence‑based practice
- Strong communication, teamwork and escalation skills
- Willingness to learn and grow within a supportive environment
- A current influenza (flu) vaccination is a mandatory requirement for appointment to this position

At Liverpool Hospital we pride ourselves on caring for all risk women and their families. Liverpool Hospital Maternity is a Level 6 facility providing care for around 3,000 births each year. Our services include:
- Antenatal Clinic
