About Lam Kitchen Bar

Lam Kitchen Bar is a family‐owned Vietnamese restaurant located in Coolangatta, QLD 4225, offering both dine‐in and takeaway services. We are expanding and look for a qualified and experienced Cook to join our team.

Responsibilities
* Undertake menu planning in consultation with the Head Chef.
* Oversee and participate in preparation, cooking and serving of entrees, main meals, desserts, and other dishes in accordance with specified menus.
* Determine quantities to be cooked and size of portions, accounting for dietary requirements.
* Check inventory, notify suppliers of deficiencies.
* Maintain kitchen hygiene: washing floors, crockery, utensils, work surfaces and kitchen equipment, ensuring health and safety standards.
* Ensure proper personal protective equipment (clothing, headwear) as per council guidelines.
* Co‐operate with statutory inspections and implement recommendations.
* Act as shift supervisor of kitchen staff.
* Deputise for the Head Chef in their absence.
* Use cooking equipment such as wok, oven, deep fryer, slicer, blender, mixer, grinder, toaster, etc.
* Produce dishes using basic cookery methods, selecting ingredients, preparing, assembling, and cooking.
* Produce appetizers, salads, stocks, sauces, soups, and vegetable, fruit and farinaceous dishes.
* Maintain quality of perishable items and kitchen cleanliness for food safety.
* Estimate food needs, review inventory to ensure sufficient supplies, and requisition food and supplies.
* Assist in evaluating new recipes and products.
* Coordinate food service activities to ensure meals are prepared on schedule.
* Operate all food service equipment and machinery.
* Make adjustments to accommodate guests with allergies or specific dietary concerns.
* Estimate expected food consumption and organise preparation accordingly.
* Meet with customers to ensure an excellent meal experience.
* Alter dishes based on customer suggestions or requirements.
* Perform other duties and/ou responsibilities of a Cook as required.
Qualifications
* Can work calmly and effectively under pressure.
* Can work unsupervised.
* Ability to take direction.
* Ability to work in a team environment.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Fluent in English and Vietnamese (highly desirable).
* Has passion for great food and enjoys cooking mouth‐watering dishes.
Compensation & Benefits
* Salary: $70,000.00–$90,000.00 per year (includes superannuation).
* Salary: $77,000pa + superannuation.
* Working hours: approx 38 hours per week.
* Location: Coolangatta, QLD 4225.
* Work location: In person.
