Join the Queensland Parliamentary Service as a Senior People & Culture Advisor and play a key role in strengthening workplace and industrial relations across a diverse and dynamic organisation. In this fixed-term full‐time role (with possibility of extension), you will provide expert advice on complex people matters, guide leaders through contemporary HR practices, and contribute to improvements in policies, systems and workforce capability. The People & Culture team at Queensland Parliamentary Service plays a vital role in supporting the Parliamentary Service, its committees, and 93 Members of the Legislative Assembly. Operating within a complex and highly diverse environment with staff across the parliamentary precinct and 97 electorate offices, the team provides high quality HR advice, builds organisational capability, and supports strong workforce management practices.

As the team continues to strengthen its strategic impact, you'll join an experienced group committed to delivering excellent customer service, fair and ethical practice, and continuous improvement in all people‐related matters.

Key Responsibilities

* Deliver operationally focused HR advisory and consultancy services, particularly in the areas of industrial and employee relations, complex case management, WH&S, and HR policy and procedures.
* Provide consultative advice to managers and employees on a range of HR policy and governance matters.
* Apply knowledge and understanding of contemporary HR practices and industrial frameworks while role‐modeling ethical behaviour and sound decision making.
* Conduct research and analysis to develop advice, policy, procedure and strategic documents relating to complex employment matters.

Your Key Strengths for Success in This Role

* 4‐6 years of generalist HR experience (essential).
* Ability to work in a fast‐paced operational environment while contributing to strategic projects.
* Depth of specialist knowledge and experience in HR business partnering, with strong capability in workplace and industrial relations, including advising leaders on complex people matters and supporting proactive constructive employee management practices.
* Sound knowledge and interpretation skills of relevant industrial acts, awards, and frameworks.
* Strong written skills with experience in writing policies, procedures and complex letters with a high attention to detail.
* A collaborative and supportive mindset.
* Previous working experience within the QLD public sector is desirable.
* Tertiary qualifications within HR or a related discipline is desirable.
