We are currently seeking a compassionate, engaging and reliable Mentor / Driving Instructor to join our growing Driving Department.

About the Role
As a Mentor / Driving Instructor, you will support learner drivers to build confidence, capability and safe driving skills while preparing for their practical driving assessment.
You will create a calm, supportive learning environment where students feel safe, encouraged and empowered to achieve their goals.
This is a casual position, working Monday to Friday during business hours, with flexibility based on student bookings and operational needs.
Responsibilities
* Deliver learner driver lessons in a calm, patient and supportive manner
* Build positive and trusting relationships with students
* Adapt lessons to suit individual learning styles and confidence levels
* Support students to develop safe driving behaviours and road awareness
* Assist students to prepare for practical driving assessments
* Maintain accurate lesson records and mandatory driving hours
* Communicate professionally with students and the Driving Department team
* Conduct basic vehicle checks and report maintenance needs promptly
* Represent Midwest Safety & Training professionally and positively
About You
* Patient, supportive and encouraging
* Confident engaging with a diverse range of people
* Reliable, professional and self-motivated
* Comfortable working independently within a structured schedule
* Passionate about helping people build confidence and independence
* Minimum four continuous years of driving experience
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to engage respectfully with people from diverse backgrounds
* Current First Aid Certificate, or willingness to obtain
* Current Working with Children Check, or willingness to obtain
* Current Driving Instructor Licence
* Experience in mentoring, education, disability support, youth work, training or customer service
