The Role
Our school caters for students with a diverse range of disabilities and support needs. Suitable applicants will ideally be committed to enhancing learning opportunities for all students and always maintain confidentiality. Staff are encouraged to attend relevant, ongoing professional development sessions and training and to take the initiative in seeking out further knowledge and skills to enhance their contribution to the work of the Belridge Secondary ESC. Within this role, suitable applicants would provide feedback when required on education and therapy programs and participate in the evaluation process relating to the achievement of goals in special education. Applicants should ideally have a high level of interpersonal skills and work collaboratively with staff members to meet the needs of students. Applicants will ideally possess the knowledge and experience of working with students with a range of disabilities and learning difficulties and the ability to support student growth, both academically and socially, within the school environment.
Under the guidance of teachers, EASN would provide support and carry out tasks requiring initiative to help students achieve their individual educational goals. These goals are developed collaboratively with teachers and the leadership team. Ideally, applicants will apply relevant techniques, skills, and knowledge gained through previous experience, workplace learning, and relevant qualifications.

o Demonstrated effective written and oral communication skills, including report writing and the ability to effectively interact with students with special needs, and liaise with parents, teachers and community members and assist teachers in understanding students where necessary.
o Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills with the ability to contribute to a professional team and provide advice and evaluation in the development of the education program, including special education and therapy programs where they have been implemented.
o Demonstrated ability to assist professionals in the implementation and evaluation of education programs, including special education and, if required, occupational and/or physiotherapy programs.
o Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of health and physical disabilities in students and adolescents.
o Demonstrated effective organisational skills that will assist in the delivery of effective education programs and subsequent feedback and evaluation to teachers or psychologists.
o Demonstrated ability to assist with the general health and well being of students.
