We currently have an exciting new opportunity for a proactive and enthusiastic Communications Advisor, Noise Amelioration Program, to join our Media and Communications team.This role will support the successful delivery of the Noise Amelioration Program by ensuring communication to participants, community, government, media and other stakeholders is accurate, authentic and accessible—and importantly consistent. To ensure messaging cohesion, the role will report to the Third Runway Communications Manager and will work closely with the Third Runway Community Engagement team, Noise Amelioration Program team and broader Media and Communications team.Liaising closely with the delivery team, community engagement specialists, local media, residents and local community groups, you will play a vital role in providing accurate, authentic and accessible information and updates on this important project.Key responsibilitiesManage media enquiries by drafting timely, high‐quality responses and liaising with journalists about the Noise Amelioration ProgramDevelop content including speeches and briefing notes for senior leaders and internal communicationsDevelop content to help inform community about project milestones, consultation opportunities and project deliverySupport community engagement team with delivery of public eventsProvide support to the business in crisis management situationsWork with digital team to draft and create engaging social media posts, manage social media interactions, build and maintain website contentQualificationsTertiary qualification in Communications or JournalismDemonstrated experience in writing clear, concise copy for media or customer‐facing organisationProven ability to work well under pressure as part of a team and with a range of internal/external stakeholdersAn ability to work both proactively and reactively and to make recommendations on appropriate courses of action to ensure timely and appropriate resolutionAbility to assess risk and provide strategic communications adviceConfident engaging with senior stakeholders and navigate complex stakeholder relationshipsThorough understanding of the evolving digital landscape—and opportunities this presents for Melbourne AirportStrategic thinker with strong problem‐solving abilitiesStrong understanding of media and digital landscape, social media and opportunities for communicationProven ability to learn technically complex material, then distil and express appropriately for a range of recipientsOutstanding written and verbal communications skillsExperience working in issues‐rich environmentsExperience developing communications to reach broad and diverse audiencesWe understand that not everyone will feel they meet all of these 100%.
