A leading contractor operating across the civil and electrical infrastructure space is seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to join their Melbourne team. With a strong pipeline of major infrastructure projects across transport, utilities, renewables and industrial works, this is an opportunity to play a key role in delivering high profile projects across Victoria. The business has built a strong reputation for delivering their projects safely and efficiently, generating a is looking for a commercially minded estimator who can lead bids from concept through to submission. You will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive tenders across major civil and electrical infrastructure projects ranging from $10M – $100M. You will work closely with operations, engineering and commercial teams to develop winning bid strategies and drive success within the team.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead end-to-end estimating activities for major infrastructure tenders across Rail, Water Infrastructure and tunnelling.
* Review drawings, specifications and client documentation.
* Prepare detailed cost estimates, take-offs and pricing submissions.
* Coordinate subcontractor and supplier pricing.
* Identify project risks, opportunities and value engineering initiatives.
* Develop tender programs, methodologies and procurement strategies.
* Participate in client meetings, tender clarifications and negotiations.
* Mentor junior estimators and contribute to continuous improvement across pre-contracts.
Requirements
* Proven experience as a Senior Estimator within civil, electrical or infrastructure contracting.
* Strong exposure to major infrastructure projects including utilities, transport, power or industrial works.
* Ability to interpret complex technical documentation and specifications.
* Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills.
* Experience with first principles estimating and tender software platforms.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
* A collaborative and solutions-focused approach.
* Ideally experienced with Conest or other similar software.
