Technical Service Manager – Coffee Equipment

About the Role

As the Technical Service Manager at Baristaequip Australia, you will play a critical leadership role in managing and scaling the national technical service operations for one of Australia's leading coffee equipment and cafe automation companies.

Based at our Burleigh Heads headquarters, this full-time position oversees the coordination, performance and continuous improvement of our service division across commercial coffee machines, grinders, milk automation systems and automatic coffee machine technology solutions.

You will lead contractor and technical support operations, ensure exceptional customer outcomes, drive service standards and contribute to the successful roll-out of innovative new products across Australia.

This role suits a highly organised technical leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about coffee technology, customer service and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Service Operations & Leadership

Coordinate and manage national technical service contractors to ensure timely, professional and high-quality customer support

Oversee installations, preventative maintenance, warranty support and repair operations

Develop and implement service procedures, systems and operational improvements

Ensure all service activities are completed in line with safety standards, compliance requirements and company expectations

Monitor contractor performance, response times and service quality metrics

Technical Support & Product Expertise

Provide advanced technical support and troubleshooting assistance for complex equipment issues

Maintain expert-level knowledge across commercial coffee equipment and cafe automation technologies

Identify recurring technical issues and implement long-term corrective solutions

Assist with testing, evaluation and commercialisation of new products entering the market

Support internal teams with technical product training and knowledge sharing

Build strong relationships with customers, suppliers and technical partners

Manage customer expectations and ensure a high standard of communication throughout the service lifecycle

Work collaboratively with sales, operations and management teams to deliver exceptional customer experiences

Assist key national accounts with technical service planning and escalation management

Strategy, Training & Continuous Improvement

Develop training systems and on boarding programs for service technicians and contractors

Analyse service data and KPIs to improve operational efficiency and customer satisfaction

Implement scalable systems to support the continued growth of the business nationally

Drive innovation and process improvements across technical operations

What We're Looking For

Essential Experience & Skills

Minimum 7+ years' experience in technical service, field operations or service management

Minimum 3–5 years' leadership or team management experience

Strong experience working with commercial coffee equipment or related hospitality technology

Excellent diagnostic and troubleshooting capabilities across coffee machines, grinders and automated beverage systems

Strong operational management and organisational skills

Ability to lead teams, manage contractors and prioritise workloads effectively

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a continuous improvement mindset

Electrical certification highly regarded

Tertiary qualifications in engineering, technical services or related discipline preferred

Personal Attributes
