A leading design and construction business is seeking an experienced Senior/Design Manager to lead the delivery of Education, hospitality and commercial fit‐out projects across Queensland.
With Qld HQ and interstate operations, this firm gets involved from ECI stage and offers a range of complex projects, partnering with clients and enjoying repeat business through strong relationships fostered over 30 years of successful project delivery.

This senior leadership role will oversee project delivery from concept through to completion, ensuring exceptional design outcomes, commercial performance, compliance, and client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and mentor design and construction teams across multiple projects.
* Manage project budgets, programmes, quality standards, and risk.
* Coordinate consultants, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure seamless project delivery.
* Drive design excellence while maintaining constructability, cost efficiency, and brand consistency.
* Oversee project reporting, compliance, and successful handover/go‐live outcomes.
* Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement best‐practice delivery systems.
* Foster strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and internal teams.
Ideal Experience
* Proven experience delivering commercial, hospitality, retail, or workplace fit‐out projects.
* Strong understanding of construction methodologies, documentation, building codes, and Australian standards.
* Highly developed project management, stakeholder engagement, and leadership skills.
* Commercially minded with the ability to balance design intent, cost, quality, and programme outcomes.
* Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
* 10+ years as a Design Manager; contractor side experience would be highly advantageous.
