Design and Deliver Mechanical Systems
We are seeking a skilled mechanical engineer to support the design and delivery of mechanical and HVAC systems across a range of commercial and industrial projects. Key Responsibilities
* Review architectural and engineering plans to develop mechanical and HVAC system solutions
* Perform load calculations, equipment selection, and duct/pipe sizing aligned with Australian Standards
* Prepare detailed cost estimates and quotations for HVAC and mechanical projects based on design and specifications
* Assess materials, equipment, and labour requirements to ensure accurate and competitive bids
* Liaise with consultant engineers, builders, and project managers to clarify technical requirements and ensure compliance with project specifications
* Provide technical support to internal teams and contractors on mechanical and ventilation systems
* Prepare technical documentation, reports, schedules, and engineering-related paperwork
* Ensure all designs, calculations, and quotations comply with building codes, Australian Standards, and safety regulations
Requirements
A recognised qualification in mechanical engineering or equivalent is required. A minimum 1 year of relevant experience in HVAC design/estimation or similar engineering role is necessary. Strong understanding of Australian Standards and building codes is also required. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications, proficiency in load calculations, equipment selection, and mechanical system design, strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving abilities, excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment are essential.
