We are seeking an experienced and capable Drilling Supervisor to oversee and support drilling operations across our exploration projects. This role is suited to a highly experienced Driller looking to step into a leadership-focused position while remaining closely connected to field operations and crew performance.
The successful candidate will play a critical role in supervising drilling crews in remote locations, maintaining operational standards, and ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
This role offers a balanced mix of office and onsite work. Candidates must be based in Sydney or open to relocating.
Earth AI is a full-stack exploration company, so flexibility in adopting unconventional business models is essential.
Equipment
We operate a fleet of young Atlas Copco CS14 drill rigs. You will also use proprietary hardware designed to maximise efficiency, organisation, and minimise manual handling.
Key Responsibilities
* Supervise and oversee drilling operations to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
* Lead and support crews in remote locations, including Drillers, Offsiders, Geologists, contractors, and other field personnel across multiple exploration programs.
* Provide technical guidance and operational support to crews in the field.
* Coordinate field logistics, rosters, equipment, consumables, and operational priorities across drilling campaigns.
* Monitor drilling performance, productivity, and safety standards across all sites.
* Ensure compliance with all safety, regulatory, and environmental requirements.
* Work closely with geologists, management teams, and field crews to coordinate drilling activities and resolve operational challenges.
* Promote a strong culture of safety, accountability, teamwork, and operational excellence.
* Assist in implementing new drilling technologies, systems, and operational improvements.
* Manage stocktakes, maintenance coordination, and resources required for drilling operations.
* Mentor and train Drillers and Offsiders to maintain high operational and safety standards.
* Manage daily drilling reports, production tracking, and operational documentation.
* Coordinate mobilisation and demobilisation of crews and equipment to remote project sites.
About You
* Minimum 10 years' experience working as a Driller.
* Previous supervisory or leadership experience within drilling operations is highly regarded.
* Strong understanding of exploration drilling operations and remote field environments.
* Proven ability to lead and motivate crews in remote locations and fast-paced operational settings.
* Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organisational skills.
* Hands-on and practical approach to field operations and crew management.
* HR Licence.
* Experience with diamond or mineral exploration drilling is highly regarded.
* Certificate IV in Drilling Operations or equivalent qualifications are highly regarded.
* Full-time position.
* No external clients; drilling focused entirely on internal exploration projects.
