$110,000 - $125,000 + 15% Superannuation

The National Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation (NACCHO) is the national peakbody representing 148 Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations (ACCHOs). ACCHOs deliver comprehensive primary health care to more than half of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples nationally.

About the Role

The Assistant Director, Cancer is a key member of the NACCHO Cancer team, responsible for inspiring the team, taking responsibility for delivering quality outcomes and following through on project milestones. This role requires excellent communication skills and attention to detail, the ability to manage competing requests, demands and priorities, and stakeholder collaboration.

The successful candidate will have a positive, contemporary attitude, and lead culturally responsive efforts and engagement to enable the ACCHO sector make a real difference in the lives for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and communities experiencing cancer.

Responsibilities of this role but not limited to:

* Liaise with organisations within both the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and non-Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community and government to contribute to the planning and delivery of cancer programs and policy initiatives.
* Undertake more complex data analysis, research and horizon scanning activities to inform cancer program planning and delivery.
* Prepare high-quality written information, including project reporting and workforce training materials, tailored for a wide variety of audiences.
* Supervise and support the NACCHO Cancer Team across a broad range of activities.

About You

To succeed in this role, you will bring:

* Tertiary qualification in public health, health management, policy, project management, Aboriginal health, or related field (highly desirable).
* Experience in leadership, program management, stakeholder engagement, and delivering complex health or community-focused initiatives.
* Highly developed written communication, strategic coordination, and project management skills.
* Experience working with Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations and/or Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health programs (highly desirable).
* Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities, lead teams, and work collaboratively within complex stakeholder environments.
