- Base salary from $134,396 - 148,000plus Superannuation
The Opportunity
As the Climate Program Manager you will lead the development and support theimplementation of policies, strategic programs and initiatives to help achieveHunter Water’s climate resilience goals.
What you'll do
- Develop and implement climate strategies: Drive policies, programs, and initiatives for climate change adaptation and carbon mitigation (Net Zero) within Hunter Water.
- Lead change management: Build organizational maturity in climate resilience through structured change programs.
- Stakeholder engagement: Collaborate with internal teams, customers, community, and regional partners to deliver sustainability and resilience outcomes.
- Policy and project development: Work with government and industry to shape regulatory environments and create projects that enhance climate resilience.
- Reporting and monitoring: Prepare technical advice, briefings, and reports for executives and the Board, while tracking external trends to manage risks and opportunities.
What you'll need to be successful
- Tertiary qualifications in sustainability, science, engineering, policy, or a related discipline.
- Experience in developing and implementing corporate climate change programs, including reporting frameworks and best practice approaches.
- Expertise in change management, communication, and project management to deliver strategic initiatives and manage complex technical investigations.
- Strategic mindset and analytical skills to identify opportunities, resolve complex issues, and monitor performance over time.
- Stakeholder engagement and communication skills, including influence, negotiation, business writing, and presentation, with the ability to build effective relationships across all levels of the business.
- Proven experience and knowledge of innovations in climate resilience influencing the urban water industry landscape and environment
- Proven ability to deliver change in an organisation
- Proven ability to engage with external stakeholders and achieve positive outcomes
