We deliver services across the ACT for children, families, young people and seniors—including housing and mental health services—grounded in community connection, inclusion and quality care.

The OSHC Educator helps create joyful, child‐led and play‐rich before and after school experiences where every child feels safe, known and included. You will supervise and engage with children, support fun learning through planned and spontaneous activities, assist with food preparation and contribute to a welcoming environment for children and families. Working alongside a supportive team, you will uphold WCS child safe standards, meet regulatory requirements and contribute to continuous improvement aligned with the National Quality Framework and My Time, Our Place.

About the Role

Key Accountabilities include but are not limited to:

* Support a safe, engaging and inclusive OSHC program where children can relax, play, learn and belong
* Actively supervise children during before and after school care, supporting positive behaviour and a calm, welcoming atmosphere
* Help facilitate fun, age‐appropriate activities, assist with food preparation and support daily routines
* Maintain a welcoming, child safe environment for children and families, following policies, procedures and safe practices
* Work collaboratively with the OSHC team to meet quality and regulatory standards and contribute to continuous improvement

About You

* Bring warmth and genuine enthusiasm for working alongside children
* Are caring, reliable and attentive, with a strong focus on child safety and wellbeing
* Communicate positively with children, families and colleagues, and build respectful relationships
* Are willing to learn, follow policies and frameworks, and maintain professional boundaries, privacy and confidentiality
* Are committed to inclusion, teamwork and creating a culture where children's voices are heard and valued

Desired Skills and Experience

* Genuine interest in working with children, with a developing understanding of early childhood development.
* Demonstrates a willingness to learn and engage with the principles, practices and outcomes of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and My Time, Our Place (MTOP), and shows commitment to contributing to a safe, inclusive and high‐quality learning environment in line with the National Quality Framework (NQF).
* Ability to work from 2:45pm for at least two/three days per week – (availability on Tuesdays and Thursdays is highly desirable).
* Sound oral, reading and written English skills.
* Willingness to continuously learn via further studies and education.
* Reliable, punctual and mature attitude to work.
* Well‐developed communication and interpersonal skills, combined with a pro‐active, hands‐on attitude.
* Demonstrated understanding of professional boundaries, privacy and confidentiality.
* Experience working with children.
* Knowledge of My Time, Our Place and the Early Years Learning Frameworks, as well as the National Quality Standard.
