Indie Education is an educational hub and home to a family of training and educational programs, providing learning services for all age groups, driven by a team that is dedicated and passionate about lifelong learning. Our programs cater for the needs and interests of young people, senior secondary school students in Years 9 to 12, the general community, third age learners, and adults with a disability in supported employment, training and lifestyle activities.
Indie Education is seeking an experienced, proactive and people-focused Senior ICT Officer – Educational Systems to join our team in our Midland office.
As the Team Leader, you will provide specialist ICT and systems support across key educational platforms, with a strong focus on aXcelerate, Sentral and Canvas. You will be instrumental in supporting Indie College, ensuring staff have reliable access to the systems, data and reporting tools they need which supports student learning, compliance and operational decision-making.
In addition to systems support and reporting, this role includes staff management, mentoring and development, supporting ICT team members to build capability, maintain service standards and deliver high-quality outcomes. Previous experience in Indie's systems is not essential - being able to learn and support them is required.
Responsibilities:
* Providing advanced support, training, administration and improvement of educational systems.
* Working closely with teaching, administration, compliance and leadership teams to ensure systems are operating efficiently and data is accurate, accessible and useful.
* Creating, developing and improving Power BI reports and dashboards, providing timely data analysis, report generation and supporting evidence-based decision-making.
* Assisting with configuration, maintenance and continuous improvement of educational platforms.
* Providing timely and accurate data analysis to support operational, educational and compliance needs.
* Working with stakeholders to identify reporting requirements and translate them into meaningful dashboards and insights.
* Supporting data quality, integrity and consistency across systems.
* Assisting with system integrations, data exports, imports and reporting workflows.
* Managing, coaching, mentoring and supporting ICT staff as required, allocating tasks, monitoring workloads and helping ensure support requests are completed within appropriate timeframes.
* Promoting a positive, professional and customer‐focused ICT support culture.
* Documenting processes, procedures and system support guides.
* Escalating complex system issues where required and working with vendors or internal teams to resolve them.
* Supporting ICT projects related to educational platforms, reporting and data improvement.
About you:
To be successful in this role you have a strong background in ICT coupled with well-honed problem‐solving skills, excellent communication abilities and a sound understanding of educational systems or similar business platforms. You will be comfortable working with staff at different levels of technical ability and have the ability to explain system processes clearly and professionally. You will also have the ability to lead, support and develop ICT staff in a constructive and professional manner.
* Experience supporting or administering educational systems such as aXcelerate, Sentral and/or Canvas.
* Strong experience with Power BI, including dashboard development and reporting.
* Ability to analyse data and present findings in a clear and meaningful way.
* Experience supervising, mentoring or supporting ICT staff.
* Ability to manage workloads, allocate tasks and support team performance.
* Strong ICT troubleshooting and systems support skills.
* Good understanding of data quality, privacy and information security principles.
* Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a broader ICT team.
* A customer‐focused approach to supporting staff and resolving issues.
* A commitment to continuous improvement, knowledge sharing and staff development.

* Salary of $101,419 + super + an extra week of leave at the end of the year.
* Permanent full‐time role (Mon‐Fri, 8.30‐4.30).
