Step into a secretarial role at the Medical Oncology at Liverpool Hospital. This position offers the opportunity to work alongside senior clinicians and specialists, providing high level secretarial and leadership support that directly contributes to exceptional patient care. You'll thrive in a dynamic, fast paced environment where no two days are the same and your organisational skills are genuinely valued. In this role, you will:

* Partner closely with the Director of Medical Oncology and specialist medical staff, delivering seamless, high‐level administrative and secretarial support.
* Lead, mentor and support a team of junior secretarial staff, shaping workflows, building capability and driving efficiency.
* Manage complex diaries, medical rosters, meetings and clinical documentation with professionalism, discretion and precision.
* Act as a key point of connection between clinicians, patients, carers and external stakeholders, helping to ensure coordinated, patient‐centered care.

Are You the Right Fit?

You will be a strong fit if you can demonstrate:

* You have proven experience in a senior secretarial or administrative role, ideally in healthcare, and are comfortable supervising, supporting and guiding junior staff.
* You excel at managing complex diaries, medical rosters, meetings and competing priorities in a fast‐paced, high‐pressure setting.
* You are highly proficient with Microsoft Office and electronic medical/administrative systems, producing accurate documentation and minutes with discretion and professionalism.
* You communicate effectively with senior clinicians, patients and stakeholders, and can work independently while maintaining strict confidentiality and a strong team focus.

Selection Criteria

To help us assess your suitability for the role, please tell us as much as you can about yourself in response to the questions below.

* Demonstrated experience in a senior secretarial or administrative role, ideally within a healthcare setting, including a high level of proficiency in all core secretarial functions such as diary management, meeting coordination, minute taking and the ability to supervise or support junior staff.
* High‐level written, technical and administrative capability, including fast and accurate typing, experience with medical terminology and dictation, preparation of professional documents and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint).

Strong personal effectiveness and problem‐solving skills, with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision, manage competing priorities, communicate professionally (including telephone manner), and demonstrate initiative, enthusiasm and discretion.
