Senior Physiotherapist (Clinical) - State Wide - Schools and Student Support
We are looking for a Senior Physiotherapist (Clinical) to provide leadership, support and mentoring for our physiotherapy team across Queensland.
About the Role
You will develop training based on identified needs, build capability and ensure best practice in physiotherapy service delivery to school staff and students. This 12‑month temporary role involves statewide capability development, support for school teams and flexible online service delivery.
Responsibilities
- Formalise and implement a sustainable statewide, consistent approach to capability development for safely assisting students to move and position through manual handling.
- Support school‑based physiotherapists across the state to use complex, evidence‑based physiotherapy to build team capability.
- Provide subject‑matter expertise to physiotherapy leadership and other departments as required.
- Lead and conduct specialised projects and innovative research activities relating to manual handling and the delivery and continuous improvement of physiotherapy services within schools.
- Plan and negotiate overnight travel when required.
Qualifications
- Clinical skills and expertise in safely assisting students to move and position through manual handling.
- Solid communication, time‑management and ICT skills.
- Experience in mentoring or coaching a statewide physiotherapy workforce is desirable.

- High‑level skills in providing evidence‑based support to students with disability in safely assisting students to move and position.
- Ability to adjust service provision, ensuring culturally safe practice and recognising diversity.
- Ability to lead and deliver projects which include staff capability and resource development.
- High‑level communication and collaboration skills across internal and external stakeholders.
