What you'll be doing
Coral Tree Family Service is a NSW state-wide tertiary referral service that aims to assist children and their families experiencing significant difficulties with mental health, behaviour, emotions and relationships. Many of the children Coral Tree sees have long-standing difficulties in their home, school and social environments.
Coral Tree offers intensive residential and out-patient programs for families with a child 12 years and under. The residential program invites the whole family to spend a week with the service, during which they receive intensive goal focused support. The out-patient program is supported by an enrolment in the co-located Arndell school, generally children will spend between 1 and 3 terms enrolled in the school and receiving clinical goal focused support from Coral Tree.
The role of the Clinical Worker is to provide clinical leadership within a team setting both in the provision of therapeutic interventions to children and their families and contributing to and leading clinical improvement activities.
Candidates will need to meet the following criteria :
- Consistently demonstrates behaviours that reinforce the CORE Values of our organisation; Collaboration, Openness, Respect and Empowerment. Demonstrates these behaviours with all stakeholders; colleagues, direct reports, as well as our patients and consumers, and those that care for them.
- Qualifications suitable for a mental health professional such as Registration for Psychologists with the NSW Psychologists Registration Board, or eligibility for Membership for Social Workers with the AASW, or Division 1 (General) registration for a Registered Nurse, or registered with AHPRA as an Occupational Therapist.
- For Psychologists; hold a Masters degree or higher in Clinical Psychology, Clinical Neuropsychology or other recognised clinical area in psychology that the employer deems relevant to the functions of the position. The postgraduate experience must include skilled clinical coursework, clinical training and supervised placement experience as core competencies.
- For nurses minimum 5 years full-time post graduate experience and relevant post graduate qualification. Social Workers and Occupational Therapists must have relevant post graduate experience equivalent to a Level 2 that includes professional clinical coursework, clinical training and supervised placement experience.
