Collinsville Open Cut is located approximately 160km from Airlie Beach in Queensland, a gateway to the Whitsunday Islands and the Great Barrier Reef. The surface mine produces both metallurgical and thermal coal for the export market and is transitioning from a dragline strip to a truck and shovel terrace operation. In this role you will gain exposure to drill and blast in reactive ground, temperate logging activities, intrusion blasting in coal and through‐seam blasting.
Responsibilities
Reporting to the Mine Planning Superintendent, you will be responsible for the creation of Drill & Blast designs and schedules for operations. You will work across the entire mine site, planning and designing all Drill & Blast aspects of this open cut operation, and collaborate closely with the Drill & Blast and Truck & Shovel Production teams to execute these plans.
About You
* Tertiary qualification in Engineering (Mining/Civil or related field)
* Proficient with Mine design and Blasting packages (such as Vulcan and BlastLogic)
* Minimum two years of relevant experience
* Ability to effectively communicate across various levels of an organisation
* Self‐motivated and forward‐thinking leader
