Engineer – Permanent Full-Time
PS Murray Princess is the largest inland paddle wheeler in the Southern Hemisphere.
Accommodating a maximum of 120 guests and operating 3, 4 and 7‐night cruises on the Murray River from Mannum, 87 kilometres from Adelaide, this vessel attracts guests from all over Australia and the world.
About The Role
Reporting to the Captain, the Engineer is an integral position in the safe operation of the vessel. The primary function is to ensure the technical aspects are maintained safely and efficiently, in compliance with safe work practices and the MEX maintenance and monitoring system, under the direction of the Captain.
The Engineer is responsible for the technical oversight and maintenance of all main and auxiliary machinery, including air conditioning, refrigeration, and low‐voltage electrical systems, and the servicing and maintenance of firefighting equipment, the engine room, and cleanliness of machinery spaces.
The Engineer works closely with the First Officer on day‐to‐day maintenance, with the Captain to ensure all technical requirements are met, and with the Marine Technical Manager to ensure services, supplies and work requirements are met.
This is a Permanent Full‐Time role with a roster of 14.5 days on / 13.5 days off. The role requires energy, commitment, initiative, teamwork, multi‐skilling and time management.

Essential Skills, Qualifications & Experience
* Marine Engine Driver Grade 2
* Confined Space
* Working at Heights
* Driver's Licence
* Current and valid First Aid Certificate
* Skilled in fault‐finding and problem‐solving in a Marine Engineering environment
* Practical experience in ship repair
Desirable
* Elevated Work Platform Licence
* Trade Certificate
* A sound working knowledge of the following:
* Fitting and Turning, Welding (oxy‐arc‐mig), Boiler Making, AC & DC Electrics
* Transmission and Braking Systems
* Hydraulic and Pneumatic Systems
* Safety Management Systems
* SA Work Health & Safety Requirements
