BLANC SPACE is looking for an Industrial Designer with preferred experience within the commercial environment to work on domestic and global projects for our top-tier clients.
This role will suit designers that are seeking some creative freedom and interested in pushing the boundaries of innovation.
Your day-to-day tasks will involve autonomy over the creative direction, detailed design, assembly, installation, and commissioning of our projects and product lines. The role will require key stakeholder management skills with external contractors and clients and require hands‐on work necessary to achieve project completion; to ensure projects are delivered successfully from a technical design perspective, on time, and on budget.
The role is for an immediate start.
Key Responsibilities
* Development of concepts and visuals using SolidWorks and production of detailed design packs of technical drawings through liaison with external suppliers.
* Responsible for the end‐to‐end ownership of design solutions through the design process for each project.
* Coordinating the design and production of prototypes with suppliers.
* Contribute to preparing project proposals, including the development and approval of design concepts, specifications and budgets.
* Manage project site‐based maintenance of projects, including reactive and contracted preventative maintenance.
* Ensure staff resources are managed effectively during project execution prioritising staff health and safety appropriately.
* Develop and manage client/supplier/manufacturer relationships to ensure positive and productive commercial outcomes.
Requirements
* A degree in industrial design / product design related disciplines is required.
* Preferred 3-5 years of related industry experience and be able to demonstrate the ability to take design projects from concept to completion.
* A team‐oriented and outcome‐focused approach with the ability to work collaboratively on complex projects.
* Strong communication skills with an ability to share and explain concepts with senior stakeholders.
* An ability to work autonomously on multiple projects simultaneously.
* Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop / Illustrator and InDesign), and Solidworks skills.
