Occupational Hygiene / Hazardous Material Specialist - Relocate to Newcastle

You will work in our Newcastle‐based Environmental Health and Safety team delivering hands‐on occupational hygiene, hazardous materials, Work Health and Safety, and environmental compliance services for clients across NSW and Australia. The role involves field inspections, monitoring and sampling, hazardous materials assessments, audits, and technical reporting.
Responsibilities
* Providing occupational hygiene, hazardous materials, and WHS advice.
* Delivering occupational hygiene, WHS and environmental services in the field, including field sampling, hazardous building material inspections (including asbestos and lead), indoor and outdoor air quality assessments, asbestos clearance inspections and air monitoring and microbiological inspections.
* Working directly with clients to build, maintain, and strengthen trusted professional relationships.
* Supporting projects with practical guidance on WHS legislation and best practice.
* Undertaking fieldwork across NSW and throughout Australia, including travel to regional and remote locations.
* Preparing high-quality technical reports, clearance certificates, and management plans.
Qualifications
* Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science, Occupational Hygiene, WHS, or a related discipline.
* Demonstrated experience in asbestos and hazardous materials work, including current Asbestos Assessor Licence (LAA) or a willingness to work toward this qualification.
* Strong technical report writing skills, with experience preparing clear, well‐structured reports and proposals.
* Hold a current, valid driver's licence.
* Sound knowledge of WHS legislation, Australian Standards, and Codes of Practice; broader APAC jurisdictional knowledge is regarded as an advantage.
