Your Role
Finance Controller. As part of the finance team, you will play a pivotal role between industry, production & cost accounting and you will oversee all financial matters for designated Bids & Projects, providing financial direction based on relevant, timely and accurate financial information.
Working at our Melbourne office, on Wurundjeri Land, you are responsible for ensuring:
* Support of the bid / project manager in the monitoring of the bid / project as an efficient business partner and validate all decisions impacting financials of the project in accordance with Thales Management & Financial Control Manual.
* Initialization of the project (reviewing the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and Cost Breakdown Structure (CBS), allocating the total budget, implementing management tools and structuring management of risks and opportunities), defining the sales and margin recognition method.
* Coordination of the project's financial components and reporting, in cooperation with project management office, industrial controller, operation controller, legal & commercial and sales administration.
* Correct accounting of transactions in compliance with accounting, legal, and tax standards.
* Day‐to‐day treatment of financial operations and monitoring of revenue and cash‐flow.
Experience and Qualifications
To be successful in your role, you will have demonstrated and/or acquired the following knowledge and experience:
* Bachelor of Commerce or equivalent degree in accounting, member of professional accounting body (or comparable).
* Strong understanding of accounting principles and standards (IFRS).
* Proficiency in ERP and financial management systems.
* Ability to analyse financial data and prepare budgets.
* Attention to detail and accuracy in record‐keeping.
* Experience with audit processes and internal controls is highly preferred.
* Willingness to travel occasionally to other sites such as Brisbane and Bendigo.
* Good communication skills for collaborating with teams and presenting financial information.
