Scope: To be a senior member of the engineering team, including lead the development of mechanical components and systems for Launch & Recovery Systems or other equipment; mentor junior team members; and other engineering activities as required.
HSEQ Responsibilities

* Participate in relevant HSEQ Training, Drills or Exercises
* Participate in relevant audits or inspections
* Raise HSEQ concerns with the HSEQ Committee or Manager
* Be responsible for own safety and the safety of others around them
Position and Working Relationships
* Position reports to: Engineering Manager
* Working relationships: Thrust Maritime teams including sales, engineering, production and project management; Clients; Subcontractors
Specific Accountabilities
* Complete detailed product design and analysis of mechanical components for use in a maritime environment, including hand calculations and Finite Element Analysis as appropriate
* Design for mechanical product testing and manufacture
* Design / specify and support the procurement/manufacture of mechanical components
* Technical report writing to support design work
* Develop operational requirements, procedures and detailed task planning for vessel integration, mobilisations, or offshore operations
* Work on multiple scopes concurrently
* Liaise and work closely with other mechanical engineers, naval architects, electrical, fluid power and controls engineers
* Assist in maintaining company compliance documents to ensure ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 compliance
* Assist with making the company more efficient by streamlining/automating processes where possible
Qualifications and Experience
* Mandatory
* A degree from a recognized tertiary institution in Naval Architecture or Mechanical Engineering with significant maritime experience
* Ability to manage a range of varying tasks simultaneously, meet deadlines, and achieve performance targets
* Excellent oral and written communication skills
* Ability to analyse problems and develop practical and achievable solutions, including performing detailed stress analysis and FEA
* Knowledge of vessel dynamics; experience working in a maritime environment
* Proficiency in: 3D CAD (Solidworks preferred), AutoCAD, Microsoft Office suite
* Desirable
* Design of lifting equipment to maritime codes
* Proficiency in: Ansys, Maxsurf suite, Orcaflex
* Knowledge of hydraulic system design
* Dogman and rigger certificates
* Offshore or subsea experience
* Project management experience
