Aspect Personnel are currently working with a council in Melbourne's West to recruit an experienced Project Manager.
The role will be an initial 6 month contract.
You will be responsible for leading the construction phase of key major community building projects including community hubs, pavilions and an aquatic centre.
You will be responsible for:
* Coordinate and liaise with contractors, consultants, and internal stakeholders to ensure project milestones and quality standards are met.
* Monitor project progress, conduct regular site inspections, and address any issues or risks promptly to maintain project timelines.
* Manage contracts, variations, and procurement activities in line with council policies and regulations.
* Ensure compliance with relevant health and safety standards, building codes, and environmental regulations throughout the construction process.
* Prepare and present regular project reports and updates to senior management and council committees.
* Facilitate effective communication and collaboration between project teams, community groups, and other stakeholders.
* Implement risk management strategies to mitigate project risks and resolve conflicts as they arise.
As the ideal candidate you will have:
* A tertiary qualification in Building Construction, Architecture, Project Management, Engineering or a related discipline with relevant experience
* Experience in project and/ or construction management
* Previous experience successfully delivering Capital Works Projects to time, quality and budget constraints
* Great stakeholder management skills
* Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
* Local Government experience or experience managing council projects
* A current driver's license
