We're excited to welcome an experienced and compassionate Occupational Therapist to our team at Karri & Tuart Lodge and Vivian Bullwinkel Lodge in Merriwa. In this role, you'll make a meaningful difference every day by supporting residents' physical and psycho-social wellbeing through personalised therapy programs. Working hand''in''hand with our Allied Health and Clinical teams, you'll help create a supportive environment where residents feel valued, respected, and truly at home.

About the role:

* Develop meaningful relationships with residents ensuring their needs, interests, routines and preferences are respected.
* Assess the physical and psycho-social functioning of residents.
* Plan and implement appropriate treatment and activity programs taking into account resident preferences, medical requirements, input from other health professionals and service policy and procedures.
* Identify, document and report on resident wellbeing and any change in status ensuring the electronic healthcare management system is updated.
* Monitor equipment and ensure that necessary repairs and maintenance are carried out.
* Assist in the implementation of therapy programs including group and individual activities.
* Supervise Occupational Therapy Assistants and volunteers who are assisting with the program.
* Assist in the education and training of all staff in safe manual handling techniques.
* Communicate with Allied Health and Clinical teams on the outcome of programs for the residents.

Our two-storey Vivian Bullwinkel Lodge is located within RAAFA's Cambrai Village. This 79-bed Residential Care Centre offers uninterrupted views of surrounding suburbs and picturesque parklands.

This role will see you working across both locations.

About you:

* Possess a Bachelor's or Masters in Occupational Therapy.
* Current AHPRA Registration.
* Previous experience working in Residential Aged Care.
* Ability to work autonomously and with a multidisciplinary team.
* Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to relate to the elderly with empathy and understand their needs.
* Demonstrate flexible decision making and advanced problem-solving skills.
* Excellent time management and organisational skills to effectively plan and prioritise work tasks.
* Enjoy building positive relationships with residents, their families and staff.
