Hume Anglican Grammar is a multi-campus co-educational Anglican Diocesan School offering education from Prep to Year 12 in the Northern growth corridor of Melbourne.
* Hume has an open enrolment policy so educates children from many faiths and with a diverse range of backgrounds and abilities.
* The School aspires to develop young people who are kind, creative, inquiring, socially and emotionally at ease, and who strive to achieve their personal best in all their endeavours.
* In 2025, the school has 2,960 students and employs some 300 staff - 208 teaching and 92 non-teaching. The anticipated student enrolment at each campus is at Freier 1,456, Donnybrook 1,028 and Kalkallo 476.
* By 2029, the School will ultimately have some 3,612 students (Freier 1,428, Donnybrook 1,596 and Kalkallo 588) with a corresponding cohort of teaching and general staff totalling 350 across its three campuses.
* As one of Victoria’s fastest growing schools, it is expected to be one of the largest non-government schools in the state, with plans for further expansion.

About The Role
Hume Anglican Grammar is committed to supporting the educational needs of all students. The Head of Learning Enhancement is responsible for promoting an inclusive educational environment through overseeing and monitoring the academic welfare of students with diverse educational needs. This includes students with high intellectual potential and those requiring additional learning support in different areas of the curriculum.
Reporting to the Director of Teaching and Learning, the Head of Learning Enhancement operates in close collaboration with their Head of Section, curriculum leader colleagues and subject teachers to raise standards of achievement of students with diverse educational needs.
This will include leading a committed team of Learning Enhancement staff in:
* planning and coordinating the delivery of additional support for students and in fostering their holistic development
* providing support and guidance to teaching staff in the development and implementation of appropriate programs that support students with diverse learning needs
* actively pursuing the values, vision, goals and pathways of the School’s Strategic Plan
The Head of Learning Enhancement supports and promotes the School’s child safety culture. Under the direction of the Deputy, they support strategies to embed a culture of child safety, monitor performance of individuals in their charge in achieving this, and periodically review the effectiveness of the strategies employed. The Head of Learning Enhancement is particularly attuned to the protection and behaviour of children who might be vulnerable or at risk.
There are five Head of Learning Enhancement, one for each school section, each leading a team of non-teaching Learning Enhancement Assistants.
The teacher roles are ongoing (1.0 FTE) and the position of responsibility is fixed term, commencing on Tuesday, 27 January 2026 and will conclude on 19, January 2029. There are 3 leadership positions - Frier Primary, Frier Secondary and Donnybrook Primary, with leadership allowances at level 3 and 0.3 plus Homeroom or equivalent time release.
Requirement For The Role
* Bachelor of Education degree or higher
* Current registration, or immediate eligibility for registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching
