The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced National Manager – Risk & Assurance to join the Corporate Services leadership team. This role will initially be offered as a 3-month contract, with strong potential to transition to a permanent appointment.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide strategic leadership across enterprise risk management, acting in a Chief Risk Officer capacity
* Lead and oversee the Risk Appetite Statement, Enterprise Risk Register, and operational risk frameworks
* Deliver expert advice to the Executive Team to support informed decision-making and governance
* Oversee the internal audit program, including management of outsourced providers and tracking outcomes
* Lead assurance activities, ensuring alignment with regulatory and ISO standards (e.g. ISO 27001)
* Manage the organisation's insurance program and annual renewal process
* Prepare and present risk and assurance reports to Board committees and senior stakeholders
* Oversee records and information management frameworks, including data governance and privacy
* Drive policy governance and compliance frameworks
* Lead crisis management planning and response
* Build a risk-aware, collaborative culture across the organisation
About You
You are a senior risk leader with a strong blend of strategic thinking and operational execution. You are confident engaging with executives and boards and bring a pragmatic, solutions-focused approach.
To Be Successful You Will Have:
* Extensive experience (10+ years) in risk, audit, compliance or assurance leadership roles
* Demonstrated experience advising executive teams and presenting to boards or committees
* Strong knowledge of enterprise risk management frameworks and governance practices
* Proven ability to lead teams, influence stakeholders and drive organisational outcomes
* Experience across internal audit, compliance, and assurance programs
* Tertiary qualifications in risk management, business, law, public administration or related field
Desirable:
* Experience operating at Chief Risk Officer level
* Understanding of regulatory environments (e.g. ASIC or similar)
* Exposure to privacy, records management, or information governance
