What You Can Expect

As the Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for developing and executing growth strategies that expand Zimmer Biomet's presence across Queensland. Leveraging your orthopaedic market expertise, you will identify opportunities within both existing accounts and competitor customers, building long-term partnerships that deliver sustainable business growth.

This role offers significant autonomy and visibility, providing the opportunity to work alongside senior stakeholders, key opinion leaders and high-performing sales teams to shape commercial success across the region.

How You'll Create Impact Business Development & Market Growth
* Identify emerging market trends, customer needs and commercial opportunities within the orthopaedic reconstruction market.
* Develop and execute strategic business plans to increase market share and drive revenue growth across Queensland.
* Build strong relationships with both existing Zimmer Biomet customers and targeted competitor accounts.
* Lead conversion strategies to secure new business and strengthen Zimmer Biomet's market position.
* Evaluate new business opportunities through detailed market, financial and commercial analysis.
* Develop compelling value propositions and negotiation strategies that align customer needs with organisational objectives.
* Champion the successful introduction and adoption of new products, technologies and clinical solutions.
Commercial Leadership
* Partner with Sales Managers, Territory Managers and Sales Representatives to execute growth initiatives and deliver business outcomes.
* Identify, develop and engage Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) to support clinical advocacy and market development.
* Collaborate with Marketing and Medical Education teams to deliver impactful customer education programs and promotional activities.
* Establish and facilitate user groups, educational forums and customer engagement initiatives.
* Support the sales team through product expertise, clinical insights and strategic guidance on key opportunities.
* Lead contract negotiations and coordinate implementation plans to ensure successful business outcomes.
* Analyse sales performance, market share trends and customer activity to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
Operational Excellence
* Maintain accurate customer and opportunity data within the CRM platform to support business planning and forecasting.
* Manage promotional and expense budgets effectively to maximise return on investment.
* Prepare sales forecasts, business reports and commercial updates for leadership teams.
* Coordinate customer meetings, educational events and industry conferences.
* Ensure compliance with Zimmer Biomet policies, industry regulations and relevant healthcare standards.
What Makes You Stand Out Experience
* Minimum 7 years' experience within the medical device industry, ideally within Orthopaedics, Reconstruction or related surgical specialties.
* Proven track record of delivering commercial growth, market share expansion and successful business development outcomes.
* Experience working with orthopaedic surgeons, hospital decision-makers and healthcare stakeholders.
* Demonstrated success in developing strategic customer relationships and converting competitive business opportunities.

* Strong commercial acumen with the ability to identify and capitalise on growth opportunities.
* Exceptional relationship-building, influencing and stakeholder engagement skills.
* Advanced negotiation and business planning capabilities.
* Strong presentation and communication skills with the ability to engage both clinical and executive audiences.
* Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret market data and translate insights into action.
* Self-motivated, results-driven and capable of operating autonomously within a dynamic environment.
Qualifications
* Tertiary qualification in Business, Health Sciences, Marketing or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
Travel Expectations

Significant and frequent travel on sales region of responsibility - travel domestically at least 50 % of their time and international travel (annually).
