About The Role
The School Budget Advisory and Finance Planning Officer provides high-level advice and assistance to schools on budgetary and planning matters. Operating as part of the Department for Education's Finance Division, the role responds to queries from site-based staff and monitors school budgets ensuring compliance with departmental financial policies and procedures and good financial management practices. The position contributes to continuous improvement of school budgeting processes and provides oversight over school budgetary practices and planning across multiple years.
Qualifications
Essential: Nil.
Desirable: Relevant tertiary qualifications in accounting, finance, or related discipline.
Special conditions
The successful applicant is required to gain a Department for Human Services (DHS) working with children check (WWCC) prior to being employed which is required to be renewed every five years before expiry.
The incumbent will be required to undertake RRHAN –EC (Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect - Education Care) Facilitator Lead (Masterclass) extended course or the online (Fundamentals) course which will be required to be updated every three years.

Remuneration
ASO5 $89,007 - $98,991 per annum (1.0 FTE) + superannuation (12%) and leave loading
