Supervisor, Quality, Logistics and Operations Support
Lead Quality and Logistics functions on site, being accountable for the quality management system and procurement and supply chain activities related to raw materials, intermediates and finished products. This role reports to the Site Manager and Senior Manager, Quality Systems (ANZ BCD).
Responsibilities
* Ensure all quality assurance and quality control tasks on site—including documentation, environmental monitoring, deviation and change control activities—are completed in accordance with cGMP/ISO principles and company policies.
* Review and release quality documentation and ERP releases for production components, raw materials and final products at the Newcastle site.
* Lead receipt and export of raw serum quality samples from Thermo Fisher Scientific and third‑party suppliers to Auckland for testing.
* Manage on‑time revision of quality documents such as SOPs, standard forms, batch manufacturing records and related documentation, and support training on site.
* Investigate deviations, non‑conformances, customer complaints and internal audits for the Newcastle site using root‑cause analysis tools.
* Coordinate aseptic cleanroom operational activities with the Production Supervisor, including staff training, rostering, setup, dispensing, monitoring, sampling and testing.
* Perform environmental monitoring activities and media‑fill reads in strict compliance with quality standards, reviewed independently of production.
* Co‑ordinate regulatory and customer audits for the site and manage supplier audit programs on and off site.
* Arrange shipping of raw materials, semi‑finished and finished goods with third‑party transport providers, ensuring compliance with local and international regulations and company procedures.
* Produce import/export regulatory documentation for non‑edible meat products, maintaining records in compliance with DAFF, Australian Customs and other requirements.
* Support inventory accuracy initiatives aligned with corporate requirements.
* Follow SafeWork NSW legislation, report hazards, and support WHS initiatives to enhance safety culture.
* Promote practical process improvement initiatives, training colleagues and utilizing AI to improve workflows.
* Demonstrate the company's 4i Values in all interactions and support the efficient operation of the business, working overtime or flexible hours when required.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Science or quality qualification and 3–5 years of applicable experience in a mid‑to‑large manufacturing company involved in food, diagnostic or pharmaceutical production.
* Effective communicator, collaborative and inclusive with a focus on continuous improvement, agility and customer requirements.
* Proactive, motivated, accountable, able to multitask and adapt to change.
* Ability to lift 40 lbs without assistance and adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and safety standards.
