About the role
BaptistCare William Carey Court is a 99-bed aged care facility that provides high-quality, person-centred care in a warm and homely environment. The housekeeper plays a key role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming space for residents, supporting both their physical comfort and emotional wellbeing.
Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, this role involves performing a variety of cleaning and laundry duties, assisting with the movement of furniture and bins, and helping to keep household areas tidy and organised. A key focus is partnering with residents to take part in daily household tasks, promoting their independence, choice, and sense of purpose.
Roster Pattern
* Monday: 06:30am – 1:00pm
* Tuesday: 7:00am – 1:00pm
* Thursday: 7:00am – 1:00pm
* Friday: 06:30am – 1:00pm
Responsibilities
* Perform cleaning duties across household areas and assist with laundry.
* Assist with the movement of furniture and bins and help keep spaces tidy and organised.
* Engage with residents to support daily household tasks and promote independence, choice, and sense of purpose.
Qualifications and You
You should manage a busy and physically demanding workload while remaining flexible and responsive to changing priorities. You have strong attention to detail, excellent time management, and the ability to follow instructions accurately.
You approach your work with a person-centred mindset, engaging meaningfully with residents and demonstrating genuine empathy, respect, and understanding toward older people. You work well within a team and are committed to delivering a high-quality, customer-focused service.
* Previous experience in cleaning and handling chemicals
* Previous experience working with food
* Experience in a similar or related support role (highly desirable)
* Ability to manage demanding workloads and adapt to changing priorities
* Strong comprehension skills, attention to detail, and time management
* A personable approach with empathy and enjoyment in working with older people
* Ability to engage residents through a person-centred approach
* Knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health principles
* Strong teamwork skills and a commitment to quality service delivery
Benefits and pay
Salary between $25.51 and $26.60 per hour depending on experience.
